Hello everyone, today I am going to share with you my favorites from the New York Fashion Week 2018 (September). The September show this year started on 6th September 2018 and ended on 14th September 2018. New York Fashion Week is a fashion event held in New York City, New York, USA twice a year, once in the month of February and once in September. Fashion to me is something that enhances your natural features, makes you look good and is wearable. Fashion week is an event where fashion designers, brands and houses from all over the world with a huge variety of taste, choice, and preference display their latest fashion collection in fashion show runways to the media and buyers. These fashion events influence the fashion trends of current and upcoming seasons and days all over the world. The biggest and most known fashion weeks are held in the fashion capitals of the world. Four of the biggest fashion weeks that has a huge influence in shaping the fashion of the entire world are, New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Other big fashion weeks are Tokyo Fashion Week in Tokyo, Los Angeles Fashion Week in LA, Barcelona Fashion Week in Barcelona, Australian Fashion Week in Australia, Lakme India Fashion Week in India etc.
I have shortlisted my favorites among all the collection that was showcased in this year’s September New York Fashion Week. Please let me know which one you like the most.

1. Badgley Mischka

Badgley Mischka is an American fashion label designed by Mark Badgley and James Mischka. Their show was on 8th September 2018. The theme for their Spring 2019 collection was Alice in Wonderland. My favourites from them are a beautiful structured white dress with golden detailing and a beautiful floral gown with notes of yellow and green embroidery for that perfect princess feel.

2. Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell is an American fashion designer, stylist, photographer, and director. He is the founder and creative director of Brandon Maxwell, the luxury women’s ready-to-wear label. My favourites from his designs were a fresh white and beige outfit perfect for a spring day out and a more glamorous outfit with black and olive.

3. Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera is a Venezuelan fashion designer known for “exceptional personal style”. The spring collection is aligned with the color, print, and joy that are the Herrera hallmarks. The beautiful bright colours lift up the mood and set the perfect vibe for spring.

4. Christian Siriano

Christian Siriano is an American fashion designer and member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Siriano first gained attention after winning the fourth season of American design competition show Project Runway, becoming the series’ youngest winner. His inspiration for Spring 2019 has been Hawaii. With Floral prints and voluminous skirts he definitely makes us feel like a Hawaiian spring.

5. Custo Barcelona

Custo Barcelona is a label and fashion company founded by fashion designer Custo Dalmau. Loved one of the swimsuits that were there in this year’s Spring 2019 collection. The glittery swimsuit with embroidery details is really one of a kind piece to have your hands on.

6. Dennis Basso

Dennis Basso is an American fashion designer who makes glamorous handmade couture designs. He established his name in the fashion industry for his outstanding and elegant collections. This year his theme was the modern day swan. Loved the way he interpreted that into his design.

7. Escada

Escada SE is a German luxury women’s designer clothing company headquartered in Munich owned by Indian businesswoman Megha Mittal. The beautiful floral prints on dark tones and pastel shade fabric really set the vibe to spring.

8. Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai is a luxury ready-to-wear brand by fashion designer Jonathan Simkhai for the modern woman. Established in 2010, his core aesthetic philosophy plays with the tension of feminine strength and sensuality. The spring 2019 outfit designs by him is a playful mix of light lace and pastel shades.

9. Lela Rose

Lela Rose is an New York based american designer living with her husband and two children. Her elegant aesthetic and fresh point of view can be seen on her spring 2019 designs. I loved how fresh yet oh so feminine does her collection look. Mostly with shades of blue and a bloom of fiery red in between,I loved five(5) of the outfits from the collection. Her outfits are perfect for a brunch, day out or a boat party.

So, this is the end of part I of my favourites from New York Fashion Week Spring 2019 Collection. Part II coming soon. How many of these do you like? Who was your favourite designer this season? Which was your favourite outfit this season?

  1. Omgg! I swear Christian Siriano is amazing! Brings back so many memories, I think I was a junior in high school when he was on the show. His designs are amazing. Do you remember that plaid dress he designed?
